Asya Oranskaya


I was born in City Kiev the capital of Ukraine.
I started to draw pictures when I was a child. First I used pencils and watercolor. It was a miracle to find out that my work brings to life my fantasies.
However I was working as a clothes designer, I always painted not only models. After I got a college diploma I became a computer designer, but I was first a wall a painter and a poet. In Ukraine I got many publications in magazines and newspapers, but my first book was published in 1990.
In 1992 I came to America. Here I find out that I could buy everything I need for painting in a store and nobody will ask me to show an ID which say that I am a member of the Artist’s Union of Ukraine.
I was happy to buy all I need and I started to work.
I became a member of many art societies, I studied art in Mary Kay’s studio, I wrote poems and published them, illustrated books for myself, Semen Viguchin, Biana Shekhets,

I am a member of:
American Guild of Art and Craft,
Jewish Folk Gallery, Manhattan,
Kings Bay YM-YWHA,
Bnai Zion House on Manhattan,
Jewish Center of Bensonhurst,
Museum of Russian Modern Art in Jersey City.

I’m a participant of many exhibitions in Brooklyn, on Manhattan, Quins,
Jersey City, Russia (Moscow), France (Paris), Israel (Ierusalem).
