Create Your Own Guitar

We started the program last year, and already used the guitars we created at Expo Israel 2006, and several concerts of the Kings Bay Y Guitar Ensemble.  This we shall take the program to the next level.  Each participant of the program will design and implement his/her own unique instrument.  During three semesters under supervision of Ilya Nathanson* you will create your own Guitar.

The program is open to everyone, and absolutely no prior skills are required.  We will start with very basics, and you will gain all the necessary knowledge and skills in design, drawing, woodworking and metalwork. Also, more importantly is to learn how properly and safely to use varieties of tools and machinery.

*Ilya Nathanson has been making guitars since 1987 and teaching Crafts’ programs since 1972.  He invites you to create your own Acoustic or Electrical Guitar in the Arts & Crafts Shop at Kings Bay Y.
